JAL Presidents’ Letter June – August 2014

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]In the April 2014 newsletter the Janesville Art League Executive Board was introduced. Each officer wrote a short biography detailing her committed and often passionate interest in the visual arts, be it watercolor, acrylics, oils, photography, mixed media or appreciation
and collecting. In this issue, club membership, the Janesville Art League Collection
and promotions are highlighted.

Barb Tapovatz is chairing the committee on Adopt Works on Paper, while Jan Hoopes is wearing two chairwomen hats—both Membership and Promotions.

On May 2nd and 3rd, 2014, the Janesville Innovation Center opened at its new location on Venture Avenue. Jan Hoopes organized an extensive display of Janesville Art League members’ artwork in the new facility and an art show and sale in honor of the event.

Marsha Mood, the Janesville Art League photographer has captured the essence of the club namely education, fellowship, showing and selling artwork and an abiding commitment to the visual arts. Even as the club takes a break during the summer months there is still art activity going on in the community. Janesville Art League will have the following events happening this summer at Janesville Performing Arts Center (JPAC). From May 12 until July 31 “A Celebration
of Birds” and then from July 31 until August 23 a WRAP—Wisconsin Regional Arts Program”. Starting August 25, an event featuring Western and Irish Art—Cowboys and Leprechauns will be on display. Be sure to stop by and see these exciting art displays.

Oh, and don’t forget, “have fun.”

Co-Presidents,
Arra Lasse
Elaine Wood
